FRIENDSHIP ACROSS BORDERS

Sisters Grace and Zoe Song join forces to paint a bright message of multicultural harmony in Inala.

At just five and seven years old, Grace and Zoe are two of the youngest contributors to the Artforce program. Inspired by the colourful signal boxes they saw while driving, the sisters began counting every painted box they passed until their father helped them apply to paint one of their own. The chance to contribute to their local Asian community is a lucky opportunity to share their love for drawing and animals with their neighbours.

Their artwork, ‘Koala and Panda’s Happy Home’, depicts a koala and a panda sharing a vibrant garden. This charming scene serves as a metaphor for friends from different cultures living happily together in the diverse suburb of Inala. Using bright colours designed to make people feel welcome, the sisters have transformed their local signal box into a cheerful symbol of community spirit. Their work proves that you are never too young to help make your neighbourhood a more beautiful and inclusive place.
