Through the Looking Glass

Boundary Rd & Skepper St Access, Ellen Grove QLD
‘Through the Looking Glass’ is an artwork that captures the innocence of childlike curiosity and youth. The sign of growing old is not collecting wrinkles and losing the colour in your hair. The more telling sign of ‘old-ness’ is the lack of joy for learning and seeing new things in life. This artwork encourages us to slow down, learning again to stop, wonder and see beauty in our world. The vibrancy of colour was purposefully implemented to bring a little bit of light and brightness into our world – one which is inevitably turning into the bleak grey of a concrete jungle as we move into a more industrialised and urbanised future.
