The usually shy and reserved Spur-winged Plover (Vanellus novaehollandiae) will scream ‘kekekekek’ and either feign injury to draw you away, or try and spear you with their wing spikes, to protect their eggs or chicks from being mowed down. The Nursery next door knows how many lady beetles may be found (none are on the EPT cap)… I wonder if you are able to find how many there are?
