Located near the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, I was thinking about the many different, intense and monumental life experiences people have inside the hospital. It is a place where big emotions fly high, and I feel the artwork needs to give people a reprieve. The bright, colourful, and uplifting work features a very bright sun that gives life to the plants, flowers, and passers-by. The hands in the work offer a warm embrace to anyone willing to receive it. The flowers release their petals to let them fly in the wind, which reminds us that sometimes we also need to let go.
