Forest Lake, Now and Then

Forest Lake Boulevard & South of Grand Avenue, Forest Lake QLD
This artwork depicts the history of the Forest Lake area, from pre-European settlement when it was a place of woodland and rainforest, to today as a vibrant residential area. It shows its three place-names (Woogaroo, Archerfield and Forest Lake) and its transition from bushland to residence of Michael Durack to tobacco plantation to WWII US Army ordnance depot to one of the best planned housing settlements in Australia.
