My design is inspired by the cricket culture surrounding the Gabba, using stylised characters as cricket players to create a playful and welcoming artwork for the local community. Influenced by children’s book illustrations, the design uses expressive characters, bright colours, and movement to capture the fun and energy of the sport while making the space feel more engaging for families and children near the playground. I also added a subtle paper texture throughout the artwork to give it a more tactile, storybook illustration feel. The mural aims to celebrate Queensland’s strong cricket identity while adding colour, warmth, and a family-friendly character to the Woolloongabba streetscape.
