Little Scholars School of Early Learning with Dylan Sarra

Child’s Mind

Turbot St & George St, Brisbane City QLD
The concept for this artwork comes from looking at the world through a child’s eyes. We wanted to start a community project that the children could be a part of. The kindergarten children have helped design and paint the artwork and are very proud to have their voices heard during the design process. We have engaged with our community, families and children. We have worked with Dylan Sarra, a local Indigenous artist who resides in Brisbane and originates from the Bundaberg region and belongs to the Gooreng Gooreng people. Dylan assisted with the artwork design and painting.

Team effort

What happens when you bring a group of the City’s youngest little creatives together with an artist passionate about inspiring creativity in kids? Well the result is magic! You can see the collaboration between Little Scholars on George and Dylan Sarra, a Brisbane-based Indigenous artist and Gooreng Gooreng man, on the corner of George and Turbot Streets in the city. This wonderful community project gave the children the opportunity to voice their ideas during the design process, help design and paint the artwork and make wonderful memories!
