Expanding Horizons

Rainbow St & Barclay St, Sandgate QLD
My design incorporates different visual themes that relate to Sandgate, and specifically, Sandgate High. With the main focus being the Ibis, symbolising the well known motto of Sandgate, being: IBIS (I believe in Sandgate) which has been adopted and promoted through our school, making it the mascot. The colours chosen were to represent the rich sunsets and sunrises around the Sandgate beach, which simultaneously illustrates the beaches and waterfront that surrounds us. The sides are adorned with the school’s name reading “SDSHS” which is surrounded by native Australian flora, which I have chosen to commemorate the natural beauty and life that surrounds us. Lastly, the Ibis is standing on a stack of books, which yet again, draws inspiration from the school logo. The message “Expanding Horizons” is part of our school values.
