Ambrose Treacy College

Stories By The River

Kate St & Twigg St, Indooroopilly QLD
The imagery in this work comes from various aspects of the local area including the focus on education and learning in the riverside Ambrose Treacy College (ATC) community and the predominant plant life featuring towering gum trees. Some historically significant built structures such as the iconic Walter Taylor Bridge and the ATC site Edmund Rice Building alongside the contemporary Waterford building with Waterford crystal design as inspiration. In our design we gleaned inspiration from the local natural and urban landscapes alongside the values of the community. Our hope is to communicate ideas about an appreciation of the natural environment, learning and creativity, acknowledgement of traditional land owners, and recognisable structures that operate as longstanding signposts.
