Society in Bloom

Breakfast Creek Rd & Newstead Ave, Newstead QLD
This work draws on the social history of Newstead House, as both the social haven of the 1800s and the founding home in the 1950s of the Queensland Women’s Historical Society that recognises women’s impact in shaping Queensland. In celebration of the strong and social community group Mum Run who are helping to shape Queensland today, I have painted flowers of the Newstead House gardens to represent women of all colours, shapes, and sizes.

You must be a resident of Brisbane ie. living within the Brisbane City Council area.
You must not be an employee of Brisbane City Council.
You must not have painted more than two traffic signal boxes in a four year period and not in consecutive years.
