Self-Raising

Hudson Rd (Pedestrian Crossing) & Birbeck St, Albion QLD
I grew up on Brisbane’s north and always imagined Albion (Flour) Mill as a mysterious signpost – a gateway between; a clash of the inner-city and suburbia, industrial and residential, old and new, past and present. I was saddened to learn it had burned down; the lot where it once stood still sits vacant all these years later. I wonder what my childhood self – passing by the mill – would think about my adult self painting these memories?
