Iconic bin chicken promotes sustainability

Local artist Jesse Irwin partnered with Reverse Garbage, Queensland’s only eco arts and reuse co-operative, to design a box based on the co-op’s core values of recycling and re-using materials.

You might know artist Jesse as the ‘bin chicken lady’ – she’s produced some super cool ibis designs in pins, stickers, ornaments for which she’s received a lot of love! The design collaboration with Reverse Garbage features the iconic ibis and wheelie bin imagery. Jesse explains that ‘bin chickens are known for their tenacity and adaptability, which makes them the perfect mascot for Reverse Garbage, an organisation dedicated to the reuse, repair, and refashioning of discarded material’.
