Our Urban Landscape

Queen St & Edward St, Brisbane City QLD
The design reflects on the vegetation that would’ve once been present throughout this place which has long since been dominated by the urban landscape. Corymbia citriodora (Lemon scented Gum), Ficus macrophylla (Moreton Bay Fig), Hardenbergia violacea (Purple Coral Pea), Themeda triandra (Kangaroo Grass), and Phyllanthus virgatus are featured for their distinctive forms. These were found using regional ecosystem overlays on Queensland Globe mapping. The hope is for viewers to relate to and recognise native flora as they would any other iconic Brisbane landmark.
