My Favourite Breed is Rescue

Wellington Rd & Shafston Ave & Lytton Rd, East Brisbane QLD
‘My Favourite Breed is Rescue’ celebrates the diversity, individuality and unconditional love of rescue animals. The artwork features a collection of dog silhouettes representing the many shapes, sizes and personalities found within rescue, surrounded by bold 1970s-inspired super graphics in earthy tones. Inspired by my work in animal welfare, this artwork reflects my belief that animals should be recognised for who they are rather than defined by breed, appearance or background. I hope the piece encourages people considering adding an animal companion to look beyond traditional expectations and explore their local shelters and rescue organisations to find a companion who is the right fit for their lifestyle. Located in East Brisbane, a vibrant inner-city suburb with a strong community of dog owners, walkers and animal lovers, this artwork aims to celebrate the relationship between people and their pets and invites the community to celebrate the animals that enrich our lives.
