Jacaranda Lullaby

Coronation Dr & Chasely St, Auchenflower QLD
The concept of this artwork revolves around celebrating the beauty of Brisbane’s iconic Jacaranda trees. Located on Coronation Drive, the traffic signal box provides the perfect canvas to capture the essence of the local area. The Jacarandas, with their breathtaking blooms in summer, stand as a symbol of the city’s charm, especially along the river and Coronation Drive. To complement this natural beauty, a quintessential feature of Queensland architecture – the “Queenslander House” – is also depicted, adding a touch of heritage and cultural significance to the artwork. Adding to the composition is the image of a young boy sitting beneath the shape of a Jacaranda tree, immersing himself in a book. This image represents the ever-evolving learning spirit amongst the youth, surrounded by their loving neighbourhood. It is a harmony of serenity, growth, and the timeless bond between nature and community.
