Healthy Smiles

Campbell St & Mayne Rd & Hamilton Pl, Bowen Hills QLD
The artwork is inspired by the connection between positive dental health and personal wellbeing. A decorative pattern reveals familiar motifs from the dentist such as drills, dental chairs and teeth – interspersed with smiles. As a graphic designer who works for the good of Queensland dentists and their patients, I aim to capture a playful perspective on dentistry and dental health.

SAY 'CHEESE!'

Martin Howard’s ‘Healthy Smiles’ is inspired by the connection between positive dental health and personal wellbeing.

Martin is an artist and graphic designer for the Australian Dental Association (Queensland Branch), also known as ADAQ. ADAQ has been a part of the Bowen Hills community for over 20 years, and has its origins in The Odontological Society of Queensland, formed back in 1905!

Martin wanted to capture a playful perspective on dentistry and dental health. His design reveals familiar imagery from the dentist, including drills, dental chairs, tools and teeth – interspersed with smiles. In order to create a design, he presented different concepts to ADAQ staff, including dental specialists, to come up with the most popular and fitting design, which is now situated just outside the ADAQ building!
