Our design is an ode to the history, culture and community of Mt Gravatt. We have incorporated numerous emblems that reflect important and unique aspects of this suburb.
– Echidna – ‘Kaggur-Mabul’ is the Aboriginal name for Mt Gravatt, meaning ‘place of echidna’
– Barn – represents rich agricultural history – prosperous general, poultry and dairy farming district
– Fireworks – Annual Mt Gravatt Show (opened 1874)
– Gardens/Cityscape – represents the renowned “Garden City” shopping centre (opened in 1970)
All elements extend from a book which showcases the suburb’s dedication to supporting education (Library/Griffith University/4 schools).
