Create – Craft – Capture

Wondall Rd & Radford Rd, Manly West QLD
This design is inspired by our individual practices using technology, photography and craft to create art, rather than the traditional artforms of drawing or painting. We think it’s a nice irony that we are painting this message. It relates to the Brisbane community as we are a local art collective promoting local artists and painting this box to encourage people to make their own art, and maybe one day be a part of the collective.
Box ID: B0738 (View Map Below)
Additional Participants: Your Pals members - Samantha Hope, Loella Michael, and Ruby Stevens.
Produced: July 2024

YOUR PALS GET IRONIC

‘Create – Craft – Capture’ has been created, crafted and captured by Meanjin/Brisbane-based art collective Your Pals.

This design is inspired by each members’ individual practices, using technology, photography and craft to create art, rather than traditional forms like painting or drawing (and yes, they are delightfully aware of the irony that they painted this artwork!).

Your Pals is directed by Sam Hope, and currently made up of members Louella Michael and Ruby Stevens. The collective hosts annual exhibitions, creates a series of zines promoting creatives of Brisbane, and sells works at markets – all in the name of sharing their art with the community! They aim to provide a space for emerging artists, and make art accessible to all.
