Being Seen

This artwork is about visibility and connection. A bright and colourful design with many eyes of different shapes and sizes with undulating lines crossing over each other that are separating blocks of colour. These lines speak of the intersecting journeys of people’s lives, everyone having experiences of both connection and isolation at times. The eyes are about seeing each other and being seen. Many of the Art Group members have lived experiences of homelessness, mental health issues, or marginalisation, and know what it’s like to be invisible and isolated. This vibrant and joyful design has a universal message of overcoming isolation to feeling connected and seen. It recognises and celebrates differences and similarities – everyone’s eyes are unique, yet our basic eye shape is the same.
