100 Years, 100’s of Stories

The Morningside School of Arts (MSA) is a stunning Art Deco community hall nestled in Morningside, Brisbane, and we’re excited to announce that it will officially celebrate its 100th birthday on February 19, 2026. This remarkable building embodies our rich heritage and has played a vital role in strengthening our community over the past century. Recently, while embarking on a major cleanup with our new committee, we unearthed the original architectural plans from the 1920s. Our talented artist member, Olivia Dean Jones, has skilfully integrated these historical designs into a fresh vision for the hall. The Brisbane River gracefully meanders around the TSB, while a vibrant and stylized depiction of the hall draws the eye, beautifully reflecting the structure that stands behind it. We hope the design honours this landmark and celebrates the artistic spirit of our community!

PROMISING PLANS

The Morningside School of Arts (MSA) is a stunning Art Deco community hall that has stood at the heart of Morningside for nearly a century.

On 19 February 2026, the hall will officially celebrate its 100th birthday!

The digital design, created by MSA artist member Olivia Dean Jones, incorporates the original 1920s architectural plans uncovered during a major clean-up of the hall. Featuring a stylised depiction of the building alongside the meandering Brisbane River, the vinyl wrap honours both the heritage of the MSA and its continuing importance to the local community.

You must be a resident of Brisbane ie. living within the Brisbane City Council area.
You must not be an employee of Brisbane City Council.
You must not have painted more than two traffic signal boxes in a four year period and not in consecutive years.
