Stories in Bloom

Bilsen Rd & Hamilton Rd, Wavell Heights QLD
‘Stories in Bloom’ is a vibrant celebration of Indigenous knowledge, culture, and connection to the land. This piece intertwines native Australian flora with scenes of people reading under their blossoms. The flowers, blooming in radiant colour, symbolise the deep-rooted wisdom passed down through generations. Each figure depicted is absorbed in a book, yet the pages seem to release more than just words – they carry the spirits of ancestors, whose presence is felt in the gentle sway of petals and the whisper of leaves. The artwork honours the rich oral traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, reimagining them through contemporary storytelling and education.
