It’s Nice To Be Alive

Lytton Rd & Kulpurum St, East Brisbane QLD
The work is a modern take on Australiana and is inspired by a Ball Park music song called “It’s Nice To Be Alive”. This artwork is a reminder that despite life’s challenges, there is always something cool to do and see in nature, in your imagination, and through a connection to the local arts and culture as we can relate to it so well, living in the same city. I included a quirky collection of things that make life, and Brisbane specifically, iconic and wonderful, including the brown snake, representing the Brisbane River. With my artwork, I want to remind the audience to broaden their perspective for a minute to think about all the wonderful things in life, sparking gratitude and a bit of peace and happiness, breaking them out of the negative tunnel vision that life’s stressors can create in day-to-day life.
