Our City

165 Baroona Rd & Nash St, Rosalie QLD
“Our City” is a graphic representation of many well known CBD buildings, bridges, and iconic style Queenslander houses, all set against the backdrop of Brisbane hills and a flaming orange sunset. Throughout the artwork, the Australian White Ibis struts larger than life within the urban environment. Love them or not, the ibis must be given kudos for such marvelous adaption allowing them to flourish in the city landscape. In this artwork, viewers can find them cheekily dominating the Brisbane Wheel, Brisbane City Hall, XXXX Milton Building, and eyeballing an Australian Brush Turkey atop the new Queens Plaza precinct. On one panel, three Bin Chickens as they are affectionately called, fly in a trio & pay homage to classically famous retro ceramic ducks that we all recall with nostalgia and love, elevating the Binnies to legendary artefact status!
